Hangzhou Ranked Top 10 Chinese City(Mainland) in Terms of International Image

Top 10 Chinese City(Mainland) in Terms of International Image were released yesterday afternoon, they are Shanghai, Beiing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Xian, Changsha, Kunming, Changchun.

Hangzhou ranked 5th position overall, 1st in terms of individuality, 2nd in terms of traffic and 3rd in terms of security. there are 30 cities as candidates and were rated in 12 criteria, including attractiveness, culture, environment, citizen qualities, security, traffic, individuality, integrity, government efficiency, investment value, development potential and internationalization level. Each city get at least 200 judgement from foreigners living in china or abroad to make the sample valid for scientific research

Mengjian from Fudan International Public Relationship Research Center suggested that the next step Hangzhou could do is to take the advantage of being a characteristic city and make Hangzhou as a “tourist destination” which require tourists to stay 72 hours at least.

The Biggest Qiantang Tidal Bore This Year May Take Place Tomorrow

QianJiang tidal bores take place every half a month, at the beginning of a month on 3rd and 4th, and middle of a month on 17th and 18th by lunar calendar. The best time to watch is on 18th July and 18th August when will have the biggest tidal bore of a year.

There have been a lot of rainfall this year so far, which makes the water level of Qiantang river at a high position, and the quick and strong water flow from upper reaches have been scouring the river bed and cut the channel deeper, which is easier for the tidal bore to come from the sea.

Thunderstorms will Frequent Hangzhou Till the End of This Month

It was still very hot yesterday with the highest temperature 37.3 degree Celcius, we have suffered a lot from the continuous more than 10 days with highest temperature higher than 35 degree Celcius, but it might be the last such hot day this month. With the subtropical high-pressure belt travel eastward today, Shower and thunderstorm chances are expected to persist till about 2nd September, there will be no continuous high temperature fot the next 8 days.

Weather today will be Cloudy with big chance of shower or thunderstorms this afternoon.
